Contents of the training

Whether it’s a small residential building or a huge paper mill, almost all buildings have one thing in common: they need a functioning sewer system.
And that’s where you come in.
As a sewer contractor (m/f/d), you are an expert in rainwater, fresh water and wastewater and lay the various sewers and pipes on our construction sites.
Piece by piece, you will build a complex, multi-layered labyrinth of pipes underground.
Depending on the area of application, pipes made of reinforced concrete, vitrified clay, plastic or cast iron are used.
It is crucial that you work very accurately and adhere precisely to plans and specifications so that everything always flows properly in the pipes.
A few millimetres of slope in one direction or the other can make all the difference.
Modern surveying equipment helps you to determine everything exactly.
Checking for leaks is also part of your job, as wastewater must not be allowed to seep into the groundwater, for example.
You operate all kinds of machines to set the sewers and pipes.
From the Motorflex and vibratory plate to the large excavator and wheel loader, everything is included here.
Once the pipe and duct systems have been laid, it is also part of your job to close the road again.
So you don’t have to worry that you’ll only be standing in the excavation pit: the work is quite varied and has a lot to offer in practice as well as theory.

Duration and procedure

Sewer construction (m/f/d) is a dual apprenticeship, so you will learn the profession in our company and at school.
In 3 years, you will learn all the skills that a real sewer builder (m/f/d) needs.
From technical calculations and site safety to laying pipes.

At the end of the second year of your apprenticeship, you will have an intermediate examination so that you can get an idea of your level of learning.
The final exam awaits you at the end of the third year.
Once you have passed, you will be a journeyman and can really get started in our company.
