Contents of the training

As a draftsman (m/f/d) specializing in civil engineering, you translate the designs of architects and civil engineers into construction plans.
This means that you create a kind of “construction manual” for the corresponding buildings.
Based on your plans, your colleagues on the construction site and in the prefabrication plant will know exactly what needs to be done and how the building is put together.
So you have to work precisely, otherwise your mistakes will be visible later on the finished building.
We teach you how to do this during your training.
Most of the work is done on the computer, where you use a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program to create a 3D model of the object.
The 3D model is then used to create 2D views, which are then used for dimensioning.
You will learn how to draw formwork and reinforcement plans for precast concrete parts and in-situ concrete and how to create workshop orders for our installation and assembly parts.
Building statics, transportability of the concrete parts and the properties of the materials are just some of the points you will have to consider.

The projects that come your way are as varied as the buildings we build: From paper mills to car dealerships, production halls, office buildings, residential complexes, swimming pools and zoo facilities, almost everything is included.
You will find out first-hand what happens to the constructed precast elements after your drawing during internships in our own precast concrete plant in Mindelheim and on our construction sites.
You will complete the internships in the precast plant in the first and third year of your apprenticeship.
You will go to the construction site in the second year of your apprenticeship.

Duration and procedure

As a rule, the apprenticeship lasts 3 years.
However, if you perform well (or have a higher school-leaving certificate), you can also shorten it to 2.5 or 2 years.
As the apprenticeship is a dual system, you will regularly attend vocational school alongside your time with us.
In the first year of your apprenticeship, you will alternate between 2 days at school and 3 days at our company.
In the second and third year of training, you will have block lessons.

The intermediate examination is after 1.5 years.
The final examination is at the end of the apprenticeship.
